Core PT Pilates

Pilates is a form of exercise that is specifically designed to build strength, flexibility and balance. It can be used for holistic wellness and awareness-based fitness, or Pilates may be integrated into a customized treatment program by a physical therapist.

The five basic principles of Pilates are breath, the alignment of shoulder blades, ribcage, pelvis and spine. These principles are used synergistically in the execution of each exercise, allowing the body to be in the optimal position for safe and efficient muscular work. The Pilates form of exercise addresses muscle imbalances promotes healthy spinal alignment and improved central nervous system function by challenging the brain to move the body in a more balanced and mindful way.
